Beach Day in Foreign Lands

Hey guys!

Summer seems to be giving it's last couple of breaths (Wow that was poetic) and it's as if everyone is making the most of these last days of summer. Including me!!

So I thought I'd share with you my favorite beach ever and definitely a place to visit. :)

Whenever I go to the beach with my family, we normally go to Spain. You're probably really confused right now... "Wtf? She lives in Portugal but goes to Spain for the beach?" Yes dear readers, yes I do.
From where I live, Ayamonte (where the beach is located) is a mere 40 minutes on the highway! Which is also the time it takes for us to get to another beach we love during the busy months.

During July and August, the beaches in Portugal get sooo busy (and when I say busy I mean, 'we have less than 1m between us and these random people next to us')! Therefor, Isla Canela is the perfect beach to hide from all the tourists (not that I hate tourists btw...just throwing that out there!)

Today I'm writing about Isla Canela, in Ayamonte! A HUGE, MASSIVE, GIGANTIC (you get the point. It's really big!) great quality beach that when there's a low tide, the beach multiplies by 5!!! And makes these really fun pools :)

As you see, you get a tone of space for yourself (in case you're feeling really antisocial), you get to see a lot of fish in these little pools, and friendly crabs (if you don't stick your finger in between their claws) on the humid sand. Noah spent soo much time admiring every single creature that crossed his path.

(Can you even see the Sea? Pun unintended)

This is also a great beach for those of you that don't know how to swim or that don't trust your swimming abilities! Cause you can't really drown and you definitely don't get smacked in the face by waves! Haha

Isla Canela is a little touristic area, but personally the most interesting thing about it is its beaches! Hopefully, you'll understand why though the photos. :)

(Stupid palm tree got in front of Isla Canela's 'a'!! Ahh the struggle of taking pictures in a moving car. I wasn't driving though)

Other than the beach being great, there's a really good little restaurant called Tocuyo right outside the beach that makes for the perfect day at the beach! It is owned by the nicest lady who prepares everything with the utmost care! Including these delicious burgers and mixes the freshest fruit to make  natural juices.

(My beautiful fam)

(Excuse me while I go wipe the drool off my face...)

(Myself getting my tan on... Who am I kidding? I'm still pale as that sand lol)

(What am I doing? No one knows. Dayumm WORK IT Mum!!!)

(My nephew is so cute omg)

When there's a low tide, the beach becomes a great place to catch clams that are loose in the sand. It's so much fun too!! It's kind of like a treasure hunt :) that's why my dad is carrying that thingy-majig lol :p

(I told my parents to do a "Goofy pose" this was the result lol)

(These were all the clams we caught for their dinner... I don't like clams...haha)

Isla Canela is also known for it's water sports such as kitesurf, windsurf etc. At the end of the day, you'll see dozens of people doing windsurf.

(My sister having a little photo shoot of her own. Work it!!)

Is that a different beach? No!! The tide had risen so the beach changed completely! :) how fun is that though?

(My dad and Noah)

The views we get from the trip to Isla Canela is not so bad either...

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! I really enjoyed writing it :)

Stay dorky and weird.
