Pastel de Nata a.k.a. a Little Bit of Portuguese Heaven

Hey guys!

I went to the supermarket yesterday and my dad decided to buy 6 Pasteis de Nata (yes, 6... My dad has a sweet-tooth). You're probably thinking "what in the world is that?". Well *whoever is reading this*, a Pastel de Nata is a traditional Portuguese pastry made with eggs, milk, flour... Well, there are a tonne of different recipes online, incase you wanna try them out.

Some people like the Pasteis de Nata to be slightly warm and with a touch of cinnamon and powdered sugar... I'm fine with whatever really... haha

Honestly, I've never made one, just cause here in Portugal, wherever you go and at whatever time, you will find Pasteis de Nata. I'm too lazy to make them when I see a GAZILLION every single day! Haha xp
Plus, they're quite cheap too!! (It depends on place to place but the average is 0.25 euros)

Here are some reasons why they are so GREAT...
  • The outside is soo crispy and flaky!
  • The inside is soo soft and creamy!
  • It not just a dessert so you don't have that obligation of only eating them after a meal. Many people eat them after their morning coffee for example.
  • It looks great too, don't you agree?
  • It just is THAT great, ok?

Whenever one of my foreign friends comes to visit Portugal, I always say that eating a Pastel de Nata is a MUST! And so far, everyone has enjoyed them!

(Look at how flaky it is...)

(I dusted a teeny bit of cinnamon on top to show you guys how the traditional Pastel de Nata looks like)

(They smell so good too! Hehe)

(I died and went to heaven with that one bite)

Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

Ps: if you ever go to Lisbon, visit "Fábrica de Pastéis de Belém" cause they make the BEST ones!!

Have you ever tried a Pastel de Nata? :)

Stay dorky and weird.

Xoxo Jessy ♥
